She came from a hoarding home and when the owner passed away, the family arranged for all her dogs (many) to go to a rescue organization.
She is a curious creature! Stand-offish, but cuddly at times on her own terms. She loves to play and wrestle with Daisy; and has learned to use stairs and enjoy treats. We all are amused by her weirdness and have faith that she'll 'get there' with potty training and more.Here's a poem I wrote for the occasion. Still needs work, but what doesn't?
the love has to go somewhere
a buildup of love has to go somewhere-
untreated, it may explode your brain
or leave your heart racing like an
out-of-control southbound train
in this case, love adopted another dog-
now two wet snouts nudge morning faces;
then the new one finds her safe place,
neglect still leaving an impression-
traces of love hoarded, of oppression-
but the love had to go somewhere-
so it continues to leave a mess on the floor,
that's a guarantee, that love's shore
laps up against a smelly and ugly beach;
trust me, it's not pretty to reach this point-
but when love arrives it can certainly be
messy like exploded spaghetti
so allow me to add some clarity-
unspent love should go somewhere good,
tipping the arrow up instead of down,
pushing life to thrive, not to drown-
in this case, love shot out of everywhere,
fingertips, kneecaps, all the curly hair-
now comes the clean-up, the petting hands-
coaching, coaxing, a safe place to land
